Yes, I’m aware of those disappointing traditions (hopefully you’re right that it’s a shrewd move by the ladies, LOL), but I’m talking about the pre-patriarchal practices from hunter-gatherer days or some Native American practices (and even some African ones that I didn’t include here for the sake of brevity) in which they were more for protecting and supporting women’s sacred time, rather than the whole “Get her out of here, she’s contaminated” thing that it later became.
