Yes, this feels so familiar to me, too. Jane and I had a more even relationship for many, many years, but toward the end, she was increasingly angry and judgmental. She started making hurtful comments that really stung me but I just figured she was going through a tough time. And then this happened… And I’m not sure I want to dive back into that and try to repair things.

It’s hard, though. We’ve been friends since college and she saw me through most of my adult life. I do miss her.
