YES YES YES. I agree with every single word here. I have been collecting notes to maybe write a story about this, though in a broader context. Don't know if I'll get it down on paper the way I want to, but it's been on my mind, and you did such a great job of exploring this.

I also have been thinking of you because I'm going through one of my cycles of exhaustion with dealing with the public - some male readers, I mean - who find so many ways to contact me on the internet, charm me, chat me up, treat me like I'm their girlfriend when we've never talked before, etc. And I was imagining what it must be like to have to ward that off PHYSICALLY as often as you probably do. And how different that would be if we just had different power dynamics in this culture.
