Your story is very enlightening to how much goes into these decisions. I hear stories like this a lot and it’s very interesting to me. I kinda wish it was more common to talk about the stories behind people’s names and the choices they made — to me, that’s more interesting than the names, themselves! :)
And yes, I agree with you on the perception of men who create names with their wives or take their wives’ names. To be clear, that is not MY perception, but a societal perception, which was revealed in a survey. I definitely don’t see that as a sign of weakness — the opposite, in fact.
