A woman free from the status quo
Life doesn't always turn out the way you think it will. But sometimes, that's the best thing that could happen.
When your life is different from the norm, you can't help but see things differently.
And if you let it, this can set you on a path to freedom...
Quick facts
1. You might know my first name, the one I used to write under, but I've changed it to reflect the person and writer I've become. I do not feel any connection to my former name, so I'd love it if you'd call me Y.
2. I've known myself as a writer since I was in 2nd grade. I've been writing long form fiction, personal essays, and feminist commentary since I was 14. You might say my journey as a feminist writer began in 1994, when my first article about women's issues was published in a magazine.
3. I am a former teacher with a master's degree and a dream of getting a Ph.D.
4. I used to share a lot of my artwork and photography online, but have done very little of that since 2023 because of how often it was stolen and used without my consent.
A note on A.I.
I do not use A.I. in my work. At all.
I don't use it for brainstorming. I don't use it for drafting. I don't use it for editing (which is why you will often find mistakes in my work).
I do not use it for any part of the writing process.
Further, I do not consent to having my work fed into A.I. by readers in order to generate responses in the comment sections.

I often post goals here to help me buy equipment for my projects (or fun treats) and I particularly love Ko-fi because they don’t take a cut of my contributions. Feel free to drop something in my tip jar — and thank you in advance!
